Natural Clay Modified with ZnO/TiO2 to Enhance Pollutant Removal from Water
نویسندگان
چکیده
Raw clays, extracted from Bana, west Cameroon, were modified with semiconductors (TiO2 and ZnO) in order to improve their depollution properties the addition of photocatalytic properties. Cu2+ ions also added clay by ionic exchange increase specific surface area. This insertion Cu was confirmed ICP-AES. The presence TiO2 ZnO detection anatase wurzite, respectively, using X-ray diffraction. composite clays showed increased areas. adsorption property raw evaluated on two pollutants, i.e., fluorescein (FL) p-nitrophenol (PNP). experiments that can adsorb FL but are not efficient for PNP. To demonstrate given semiconductors, performed under UVA light These degradation up 90% after 8 h exposure best ZnO-modified clay. proposed treatment seems promising treat especially developing countries.

Removal of pollutant heterocyclic dyes from water with ZnO adsorbent
In this study, Copper oxide as a good and inexpensive adsorbent has been introduced and used for the removal of erythrosine and red carmoisine dyes from several water solutions successfully. The effect of various parameters such as pH, dye concentration, amount of adsorbent, contact time and temperature on removal processing was investigated. Adsorption isothermal data could be interpreted by t...
متن کاملRemoval of methylene blue from aqueous solutions using modified clay
Introduction: Discharging of industrial colored wastewaters especially into aqueous environments can cause adverse effects on aquatic life due to their toxic natures. In this study, montmorillonite modified by hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HDTMA-Mt) was used for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB). Materials and Methods: The influence of surfactant loading rate, contact time, pH, adso...

Nitrate-containing compounds are considered as groundwater contaminants, the concentration of whichhas been growing in these resources during recent years. As a result, it seems necessary to use effectivemethods to remove nitrate from water and wastewater. Adsorption is generally considered moreeconomical in water treatment compared to other feasible a...
متن کاملPollutant and Microorganism Removal From Water by Hydrodynamic Cavitation
Hydrodynamic cavitation can effectively remove organic pollutants and microorganisms from water. Organic compound degradation and water disinfection removal rate is related to reaction time and operating temperature. Removal rate can be improved by increasing the reaction time or raising the operating temperature. Under our experimental conditions, the removal rate of colority, COD and petroleu...
